Services & Chimney Problems Solved

I offer the following services. I personally perform all work myself.
No masonry work done.

Fireplace flues should be cleaned once a year or about every cord of wood you burn. The same for wood stoves and inserts. Furnace flues sometimes can go a bit longer depending on the age of the furnace and condition of the flue.

When the condition of the flue tiles are no longer structurally sound or when a new appliance is installed into the chimney, it should be relined with a stainless steel chimney liner. Stainless steel chimney liners are installed for fireplace inserts, furnace flues, and pellet stoves.

Stainless steel chimney caps installed for all types of chimneys.

I perform video inspections, call to ask about the benefits of this service.

Clogged dryer vent

A clogged dryer vent can increase drying time, waste energy and be a potential fire hazard.

Beware of Scammers

Typically, these "scammer" chimney companies blanket the area with phone calls, saying basically the same story.

"Hello Mr. or Mrs. so and so- we will be in your area and we are running a special on chimney cleaning- sometimes as low as $39.

They also issue coupons advertising a very low price.

When they show up, they say they will sweep your chimney from the roof and while they are up there will give you a free 21 point safety inspection.

They come down and tell you that they found the furnace flue to be falling apart and it needs to be relined NOW!

They also may say, by the way we have the materials on the truck and we can do it now. And if you pay us cash, we can do it cheaper.

Most of these companies come over on the ferry from Long Island. Keep in mind, nobody is going to drive that distance for $39, their objective is to sell things, and most of the time it is something you do not need.
