Chimney sweeping protects your family from carbon monoxide poisoning, chimney fires, and other venting-related hazards. Besides cleaning, we do a meticulous inspection of your chimney, flue (the pipe inside the chimney), and fireplace. We also clean and inspect furnace flues.
Chimneys should be swept once a year. A good rule of thumb is one inspection and cleaning per every cord of wood burned. Furnace flues do not need to be cleaned as often. This often depends on the furnace and flue equipment's condition. We highly recommend getting both the chimney and furnace flue swept when moving into a new house.

To prepare for chimney sweeping, you only need to do the following:
We will lay drop cloths in the working area. All soot and other debris will be swept up by our industrial strength vacuum cleaner.
After we arrive at your home, we will brush your chimney, flue, and fireplace from inside your house. We will also inspect all three areas for structural damage that could lead to further problems. The entire chimney sweeping process takes from 45 minutes to 1 hour. The process for furnace sweeping is very similar.
We present you with a written evaluation of our work and document any immediate hazards or potential issues. If a second inspection is necessary, we will help you schedule it. We also give you advice on how to best maintain your chimney and fireplace so they will continue give you comfort for years.
