Chimney Relining

What Are Flue Tiles?

Flue tiles are heat-resistant tiles made from terra cotta. Most houses built in the last century have chimneys lined with flue tiles. Their purpose is to keep the products of combustion (heat, flames, smoke, sparks, and carbon monoxide) contained within the chimney flue and vented safely out of the house. The flue tiles also protect the chimney's masonry structure from the corrosive byproducts of combustion.

Why Do I Need Chimney Relining?

  • If your flue tiles are cracked or damaged. This is often due to aging and freeze-thaw cycles in cold climates.
  • If you have recently installed a new appliance (such as a stove, insert, furnace, or water heater) into your chimney.

A new stainless steel chimney liner is essential in keeping your home free of dangerous gases and potential fire hazards.
